Description
The Sound of Taransay Harris is an open edition print that has been taken from an original abstract painting by Arie Vardi. The Sound of Taransay lies just off the coast of Harris, its waters crash onto the sandy beaches of Luskentyre. This dramatic image looks over the water after a storm has passed, the sun is breaking through the clouds above. With a dark colour palette of greys and blues, the artist uses flashes of white and yellow to highlight the sun's path.
Chile born Arie Vardi moved to Jerusalem to study Graphic Design. Following graduation in 1991 he moved to Scotland. Many of his paintings are inspired by his love of Perthshire, Scotland and the Mediterranean. This is reflected in the vibrant colour palette he uses in his work. Arie paints using acrylic, oils and mixed media, and often experiments with light and the way it moves across a scene creating shadows and pops of colour.
