Welcome To Argyll is an open edition print that has been taken from an original abstract painting by Arie Vardi. This scene from the West coast of Scotland looks along the shoreline of a beach to the mountains behind. Arie uses contrasting light and dark colours to reflect the dramatic Scottish weather, with a colour palette of shades of white and grey with little pops of blue and yellow to highlight the sea and the sun breaking through the clouds.
Chile born Arie Vardi moved to Jerusalem to study Graphic Design. Following graduation in 1991 he moved to Scotland. Many of his paintings are inspired by his love of Perthshire, Scotland and the Mediterranean. This is reflected in the vibrant colour palette he uses in his work. Arie paints using acrylic, oils and mixed media, and often experiments with light and the way it moves across a scene creating shadows and pops of colour.
