Description
Edinburgh, 1791. Isobel Duguid and her friend, the castrato Clessidro, are stars of the Edinburgh Musical Society and notorious for their murder ballads. One night a note arrives from a Mrs Abercorn regarding Isobel's song The Fiddler's Wrath - the tale of a prima donna who died of heartbreak after her husband was sent to the gallows for murder. But Mrs Abercorn's curiosity is far more than a fickle interest, and begins to shine a light on Isobel’s rise through the social classes, her role in the ominous song, and a long-buried secret.
