British Made Wool Goodies - Meet Tweedmill

We are delighted to stock a range of cosy throws made from British Wool in North Wales. I love finding companies rooted in local community and making traditional goods using local skill and materials. Tweedmill is just that! They have been making wool goods since 1971 and remain a family ran business.

I love having their products in Edinburgh. Not only because of how amazing they look. Tweedmill uses pure wool which is a circular, renewable fabric - sheep will grow their fleece after it has been sheered. Their Team does everything in house, from recycling yarn, weaving traditional tweed to designing their full range.

What I'm especially pleased about is their recycled line. We just got a delivery of random recycled throws and they are absolutely stunning - they are thickly woven, providing extra warmth on cool evenings. Made from recycled wool and finished with a kantha stitch done using recycled yarn thread. Plus they are more budget friendly and will last for years and years just as the virgin wool ones. They are a new shop favourite.

These throws are great thrown over your legs when working, snuggling on the couch or added onto your bed as an extra layer of comfort.

Wool is also breathable as the fibres in the wool form tiny pockets of air, allowing the material to absorb moisture – making it extremely breathable and perfect for babies. They even designed a gorgeous pram blanket!

Apart from moisture-wicking ability, wool has excellent temperature regulating properties and is hypoallergenic by nature, making it comfortable and suitable for sensitive skin.

You can keep yourself warm knowing that you invested in a great British product that feels right and looks amazing. Curiouser recommended.
